911, What's your wedding emergency?!

What’s in my Emergency Kit?

Being prepared is one of my main jobs; heck, I would say it’s the most important one! As a wedding planner, I need to be ready for any situation that gets thrown my way. It is my responsibility to handle the unexpected changes with ease, and this bag is often essential in finding a quick solution. Some couples see my big bag on their wedding day and may think I’m tagging along for their honeymoon (I wish!). But joking aside, I thought it would be fun to give you a glimpse into some of the crucial items I bring to every wedding.

1.       You have a headache? I’ve got ibuprofen. Feel like your allergies are acting up? I’ve got an array of allergy medicine. Are your contacts bothering you? I have contact solution and cases! I have my own little pharmacy, so every condition or situation is covered and taken care of.

 2.       I know changing into your cute sneakers after a long day of wearing heels or wedges can be the light at the end of the tunnel for some brides and their feet. In my experience, most brides are prepared for everything, but they often forget socks! After watching this happen once, I always keep a brand-new pair of socks in my bag to accommodate for this mishap. I also recommend that every bride brings a pair of back-up shoes in case those elegant wedding heels become torturous by the end of the night. I want to make sure all my brides have happy feet, so they can dance and sing the night away!

3.       One thing that pretty much every couple says is a must have at their wedding is candles. They create a beautiful and romantic ambience, but without a lighter, you won’t get very far. That is where my collection of lighters comes in. I like to have multiple on hand just in case they get misplaced throughout the day. During the chaos of setting up things easily get lost, so it is a good idea to have extras of all the necessities. Like scissors! I currently keep at least 5 in my bag, just in case they go MIA too.

4.       One of my favorite items in my emergency kit is my custom apron. I needed something durable and easy to wear as well as recognizable for anyone that needs to track me down during the wedding preparation. It holds all my random items, and most importantly, my cell phone. (We all know how important communication is on the day of the event). I found this adorable apron on Etsy and it is perfect!

5.       I find it helpful to keep a handful of strings and zip ties of all shapes and sizes. You never know what decorations might need to be hung, and I like to have as many options as possible. I get inspired while helping with the décor and creating an environment that is memorable for the couple and their guests.

There is so much more in my kit. I mean,  it is a small duffle bag full of goodies. If you become one of my couples, you receive full access to anything and everything inside!
