How to Get Your Bridal Glow On

As a bride, one of the essential things you do in preparation for your wedding day is taking the time to achieve that bridal glow for your skin! I recently spoke with Sykes and Lanno, a South Jersey spa that is known for their specialized facials. They are girl bosses that started their own business a little bit over a year ago and I can say from personal experience, they are the best of the best! After asking these ladies a few insightful questions, I know my brides will appreciate this information and tips on how to get their face wedding ready!

1. What is the best way to get your skin prepared for the big day?
The key to getting your skin ready for the big day starts with your internal health! Drinking water, eating a balanced diet of greens and fruits, lean proteins and natural carbs. Avoiding excessive sugar, dairy, salt and fried foods eliminates the possibility for blemishes. Our gut is directly related to our skin and shows any inbalances that could be present within. The best way to get prepared for your big day is by starting facials 6 months prior to your wedding and introducing the proper skin care regimen for your particular skin care needs. Waiting until the month prior may hinder desired results.

2. Favorite treatments to get prepared?
We believe in approaching skin care from a corrective stand point and feel that advanced modalities will offer the greatest results especially when combined together in one treatment or in series of mini sessions. Our favorite modalities and services for brides are micro-current, galvanic and a hydro-jelly mask with LED photo therapy. Our Elevate & Submerge Facial combines all of these modalities together and is amazing to receive two weeks prior to your big day.

  • Micro-Current is an advanced modality that stimulates your muscles for a more awakened, lifted and contoured appearance while stimulating your collagen and elastin production.

  • Galvanic is an advanced modality that helps feed your skin the hydrating nutrition it needs and can’t fully absorb naturally.

  • Hydro-Jelly Mask is an electrolyte and algae infused mask that aids in nourishing and replenishing your barrier.

3. Three must have products to help get your face ready?
Skin Ceuticals is the skin care brand we use within our treatment room and for home care. They are extremely concentrated medical grade corrective products that are results driven. We also formulate our own oils as well. The three that we recommend are:

  • Simply Clean

  • Serum 10

  • Gua Sha Stone paired with our Sykes & Lanno Facial Oil. Gua Sha helps to reduce puffiness and increase circulation for a natural well rest appearance and lifted glow! This should be done at least 3 times per week!

4. How often do you recommend getting treatments done?
We suggest receiving monthly facial treatments starting 6 months prior to your wedding date. The remaining two months leading up to your big day you should be receiving 2 mini facials every 2 weeks to really focus on extractions and areas of concern for the most corrective results driven approach.

5. Do recommend splurging on eyelash extensions to help make your eyes stand out?
Eyelash extensions are worth the splurge prior to your wedding day! We highly suggest receiving a full set a month prior and receiving two more fills prior to your wedding date. Your last fill being 3-4 days prior to the day of.
